Happy Lunar New Year 2026 — Year of the Horse

It's that time of the year again.

The smell of bánh chưng being cooked overnight, the sound of firecrackers in the distance, red envelopes exchanged with big smiles, and the warmth of being surrounded by family. Tết is something truly special — and this year, we welcome the Year of the Horse (Năm Ngọ).

What is the Year of the Horse?

In the Vietnamese and Chinese lunar calendar, the Horse is the seventh animal in the twelve-year zodiac cycle. People born in the Year of the Horse — 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, and now 2026 — are said to be:

• Energetic and independent: They move fast, think fast, and rarely stand still.
• Hardworking and passionate: Once they commit to something, they give it everything.
• Adaptable: Like a horse running across different terrains, they thrive under change.

In Vietnamese culture, the Horse (Ngựa) is also a symbol of speed, freedom, and perseverance — qualities that feel especially relevant in today's fast-moving tech world.

A moment to reflect

Every Tết, I take a moment to look back at the year that just passed before looking ahead.

This past year was a meaningful one for me. I published new articles on topics I care about — latency metrics, AI agents, workflow automation, and infrastructure. I started this blog as a personal side project and watched it slowly grow into something I'm genuinely proud of. And just recently, I moved it to its own home at blog.primax.cloud — a small step, but one that felt significant.

The Horse energy fits well with what I want to bring into 2026:

• Write more consistently and share knowledge with the community.
• Dive deeper into Cloud infrastructure, AI tooling, and engineering practices.
• Keep learning, keep building, and keep moving forward.

Conclusion

Tết is my favourite time of the year. Not because of the food (though the food is amazing 🥢), but because of the feeling — the sense of renewal, of gratitude, and of possibility.
